A recent article in the Times revealed that London A-Zs and Ordnance Survey maps are the two most stolen items from UK bookshops.
The story also reveals how someone stole the biggest Times Atlas
“The worst theft we've had was of The Times Comprehensive Atlas of the World, which was worth £100,” says Peter Donaldson, the owner of Red Lion Books in Colchester, Essex. “How someone had a big enough coat to walk out with that under it I really don't know.”

I'm sure maps don't have identifiers but I reported a stolen iPod on a site called http://www.stolen-property.com/
ReplyDeleteIt took me awhile to find it but appeared to be the most comprehensive stolen property website.
Just thought I'd mention it in case someone else was searching for a way to report stolen property and came across this blog first. It will save some time :).
