Scotland’s National War Museum, based in Edinburgh Castle, records how over 400 years of military service has touched the lives of countless Scots, leaving their mark on the nation’s history, image and reputation abroad.
The Museum is currently running a special exhibition Helmand: Faces of Conflict featuring photographs by Robert Wilson. Taken in the Helmand region, the photographs “capture the human aspect of conflict in unflinching intimacy”.Collins Geo have worked with the Ministry of Defence Defence Geographic Centre to create a series of small scale briefing maps. The Afghanistan map is displayed as part of this exhibition.
The exhibition runs till the end of January 2010.
