Unique Competition Offers Highland Immortality

Who Wants To Live Forever? There Can Be Only One!

To mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the Hollywood blockbuster Highlander (which first introduced the world to immortal hero Connor MacLeod), blinkbox, the movie streaming website site is running a competition offering a member of the public a unique opportunity to achieve “immortality”.

To enter, participants should visit the competition page at
www.blinkbox.com/immortal and explain, in 140 characters or less, why they deserve to become immortal. Alternatively, twitter-using would-be immortals can tweet their explanation remembering to add #IMMORTALWIN

The competition winner will have a previously unnamed Scottish gorge within Clan MacLeod territory named after them. The newly-named feature will be included in the forthcoming 2012 Collins Big Road Atlas of Britain, thus assuring immortality for the winner, whose proud name will echo through the ages, on the map’s pages.

Rachael Jackson, a descendent of the Clan MacLeod, who co-runs
The Skye Food Company and whose family farms the area around the gorge, has assisted blinkbox in coordinating this scheme and will pick the lucky winner.

Closing date for entries is Wednesday 26th January 2010. The winning name will be announced by Saturday 29th January 2011.
